About James Fleming

I have had a passion for woodworking since I was in my early 20s. I started out building arbors, patio covers, decks gazebos or any other outdoor wood projects. Then about 15 years ago, I started looking into building furniture. I have a passion for bringing out the beauty in the wood that I work with. I add semi precious stones, colored epoxy, antlers and anything else that I can find that will enhance the design.

 

Recently, I have been commissioned to build a 9 foot desk with a Star Wars theme. I have been told that I am an artist with Wood. I work mostly with Mesquite since it is a Texas native and a beautiful hard wood to create very unique and lasting pieces. I study a slab to see how I can best utilized the piece before starting a project. Each piece is one of a kind.
